Hi Everyone,

I've been going to therapy for a little over a year now and my therapist has diagnosed me with PTSD from day 1. I am still unsure about what it is and what my PTSD is caused by. Can anyone share thier own story or explain PTSD a little bit more for me?

Thank you!

" Check out www.sidran.org for lots of info on PTSD.

Also, check my 11/3/07 Journal out for lots of links on PTSD and SA. There are 2 entries, one is on PTSD, the other SA.

" PTSD centers around one or more traumas you have endured or witnessed that still haunt you.

Symtpoms can include:
*vivid flashbacks that make you feel that it is happening again right now.
*Depersonalization or dissociation - feeling detached from reality or having "missing time"
*avoidance of things/places/people that trigger these memories

Does any of that ring a bell with you? I hope not, but if it does, you're not alone. This group is full of people who experience these things, and we understand how awful they can be. We're all here working on healing together. Welcome. "
