I am 20 years old and have recently been diagnosed with PCOS and have been told after a scan a laparoscop and endoscopy that i have to have my right ovary removed in the next few months, any one else had to have their ovary removed if so does it hurt and what are my chances of gettin pregnant?? xx

" what reasons are they giving you for removing your ovary.......your only 20 you need to make sure that there is not another treatment that is not as envasive....you should however do what is best for your health and as far as babies that is totally up to GOD............GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS YOU "

" if i were you, i would get a second opinion, from a reproductive endocrinologist. most doctors are eager to jump the gun on removing body parts that seem to give us trouble, but they dont realize that there is an underlying problem (that is probably quite treatable) that is really at the root of it all.

dont let them take your ovary! at least not without a second opinion from a doctor who KNOWS about reproductive endocrinology. RE's are doctors that have at LEAST three extra years training in this field, and although most doctors (ob/gyns, and gen practitioners) wont admit it, they just dont have the knowledge or know-how to deal with PCOS in its entirety. "

" I have two friends with one ovary one has 3 kids and the other has 1 and the one with 1 had cervical cancer they said she would'nt be able to carry. she prove them wrong and beat the odds so good luck get a second opinion. raychel is right they try to cut you up before treatment. my friend said it's a 20% chanch she was told about ttc. "
