ruptured cysts???

I was wondering what meds contribute to cysts rupturing. Is it something that just happens w/o meds? I have never had a cyst rupture, but if I don't get pregnant within the next couple of months my dr. will start me on clomid, then whatever other treatments are next until I get pregnant. It sounds painful and I just want to see what I have to look forward to..lol.

" i first ruptured a cyst before i was diagnosed, and i wasnt on any meds at hte time. it was EXTREMELY painful! because of the loacation of the pain i thought it may be my appendix, but it turned out to be a cyst. it also caused my cervix to swell up to where i could almost feel it coming out of me. it was very scary because i had no idea what was wrong with me until i got into the drs office and was diagnosed with pcos. i did eventually try clomid, as well as prometrium and metformin. i got pregnant twice while on metformin, and twice while on no meds at all. i lost two of those, for unknown reasons but i have a 3 yr old son and am expecting another boy in november, so dont lose hope. it is possible to get pregnant with pcos. maybe more difficult, but worth it! good luck! " The rupturing just happens once they get a to a certain size. I used to have them rupture each month at ovulation from ages 16-38. It is painful, but I got used to it. I don't know if the clomid stimulating the ovary will make them rupture or not.

If it does happen, you will feel a pretty bad pain on either side (depending on which ovary had the ruptured cyst). My pain used to last about 45 min. The cysts have a liquid in them which is toxic (according to my Dr.) and it leaks over the organs and will make you swell up...kinda like you're a few months pregnant...and you'll feel alot of pressure...like you have been filled with air. This too is very uncomfortable. It goes away after about 48 hours. This is just my experience! "

" I have found that when cyst ruptures I have the pain from anywhere to 45 minutes to an hour. However afterwards I feel all bloated and yuck for the next little while. Being on meds or off of meds I found has no effect. I have had cysts burst when ever they feel like it. Being on Clomid though did increase my sensitivity, since clomid is stimulating the ovaries.

Gook luck! We are currently trying to get pregnant also.

Hugs, Leanne "
