Hi everyone in PKD land... Im just curious as to how many of you actually have this happen? K here it goes I have PKD and suffer chronic pain,my kidneys have gotten pretty large and last tim had CT scan they could not even count the cyst they said i have well over a 100 cyst in both kidneys.. When i go to bed or try to go to bed i get awaken by the worst pain and its in my lower back and in my lungs . I actually cry and cant breathe just trying to move around or roll over hurts my lungs and back sooo bad.. When i asked my kidney specialist she said it was quite normal for people with PKD to get this pain in the lungs and explained that when you lay down the gravity makes your kidneys go up where they are so big that they smash your diaphram and lungs. It almost feels like my lungs have some what collapsed and just have hard time even taking a breath... Im always afraid its lung cancer and doc reassures me that its not.. Im only like this in the A.M. and its not every single mornings just depends how i sleep and how long im lying down and usually once i get up and get in the shower and am up for a while gravity makes my huge kidneys settle down and all that pressure in my lungs is gone and i can breathe normal again.. Do any of you have this happen ever?? Any advice would be great or input K thanks to all of you who reply I just get worried that it might be something else i did have a chest x-ray about 3-4 years ago and it was normal ..My doc always tells me to quit worrying cuz i wouldnt just have the pain in the morning then have it go away...

" Hi ,No I dont have this ,my kidneys are not big enough ,but I just would like to say that your doctor should show a little more consern for your fears ...it is so not helpful to just be told to stop worrying ...But on the other hand I think it may have shown up on your ct scan if there was anything in your lungs??? so it proberly is what the doctor says...
