Question about PKD

Has anyone ever heard of this or had it happen to them. My husband has ADPKD. So he has a daughter that is 10 from another woman. His daughter said that for two weeks it hurts her to pee. She also has some spotting after she pee's. So last night I asked to see her pee and it had a ton of bubbles in the urine. I know that can mean loss of protine from the kidneys. Could it be anything else? Or do you think this is a good indication that she probally has PKD? I am just worried about her and her mother does not take her to the doctor. I also know that when you have PKD you have to be careful of UTI's since that can cause damage to the kidneys. So does anyone know anything about this. Or could it be nothing to worry about. Please let me know.

Also I know the bleeding is not a period.

" It sounds like she might have a UTI or a Kidney infection. She needs to go to the doctors immediately the sooner the better. I would try talking to her mother and see why she won't let her go to doctors, even if she doesn't have pkd a UTI is still bad. Also if her mother wont take her tell your husband of your concern and have him take her to the doctors. You also can see if she has PKD by doing a simple ultrasound on her kidneys. I hope this helps take care and god bless. "

" I may be wrong about this so don’t take it as gospel ,but I think ADPKD is a recessive form of PKD and so the gean is needed on both sides of the family for a child to have it and by 10 years old it would be clear if she had it or not as unlike PKD it affects people younger, I do not think you can have both PKD and ADPKD in the family (this is the bit I’m not sure of)But it certainly sounds like a kidney infection ,young girls with out PKD are prone to them now and then...your not worried about nothing ... " This just recently happened to my daughter. She said the exact same thing about spotting and it hurt when she urinated. This happen after 4 days of oncoming of bladder infection. I told her to go to the dr. Couple days later in ER, they diagnosed her with severe ITC. "
