Considered a disability?

Hi
I was wondering whether anyone can help. In general, is PKD, when a patient is on life-saving dialysis following end stage renal failure, considered to be a disability? I know that persons with such a condition are entitled to appear before a medical board and get (early) pensioning. However, as I still (with lots of sacrifices) manage to maintain my job, I would like to continue being more useful to society. I would like to see whether I can benefit from various other social benefits available for disabled people, though (if I am entitled to this). I live in Malta, so European laws and regulations apply Perhaps someone out there can advise me, as I do not seem to be able to get such advice locally. Posted on 08/02/08, 03:08 am |
