Hi everyone! i was just wondering if anyone could tell me more about side affects doctors are worried about for anyone considering enrolling in the research for this Tolvaptan. dialysis by the time you're done? reproductive problems? damage to the kidneys?
I just really have no clue and have searched everywhere online, but can only find that it's been approved for the Fast Track and is in the final stages of testing. Any advice would be appreciated! Posted on 03/04/08, 10:03 pm |

Hi! My husband has PKD and is in the Tolvaptan trial. So far the only side effects are thirst and frequent urination. He has only been in the study for four months, but others have been on the drug for much longer and seem to be doing well. We won't know if the drug is working until the drug company releases the information on this clinical trial. They are still recruiting at lots of sites in the US, and in other countries too. I'm just praying it works as well in humans as it does in rodents!!!!
