Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Support Group

When I was in a lot of pain from infections I also got a lot of headaches but they have eased as the infection went...

I have headaches but I think a lot if them are severe sinus because of allergies. On the other hand I did just have my first head CT about 2 weeks ago for a HA I could not get rid of. Even after a course of zithro for an ear infection it was still pretty debilitating, so I went back. The CT was fine and I am feeling better now but I have to admit I was worried when they ordered the CT.

I suffer terrible headaches where i have to lay down and go to bed. They are usually migranes and last at least 20 hours and very disabling.. I have had 3 MRI on my head and all have come back fine the only thing they found on them was a cyst in my maxiallary sinus.

I also seem to suffer with headaches, see that with PKD you can't take any pain killers either, so we just have to climb the walls with extreme pain with an ice pack on head!

Please can someone inform me of an MRI scan; as I have refused one as the doctor insisted that there's a needle envolved, and I'm scared of needles, so excepted the heart scan instead:

Yeah we do get headachs, with PKD. However check with your dr. He may order a ct scan or MRI to make sure your not suseptable to an anurysum. That can happen if the blood pressure goes too high. My renal specialist prescribed Vicodin for me. He took me off atenolol because it started to have adverse reactions to my kidneys. Make sure the prescription is from your renal specialist and take it only when the pain is too much to bare, because it is a delicate matter and the most important thing is to prolong the kidney functions right now.

I need to make a correction...I was taken off tramadal for the pain...not atenolol, I still take it for High blood pressure. Sorry for the mis print (smile)
