i've been reading many posts and it seems most people have pcos due to insulin problems. everything is fine with me other than having pcos. i was just wondering how many other people don't have insulin problems. one of my sisters has pcos and the other one is being tested now. and i have two cousins (their mother is my father's sister) have it as well.

" my dad and aunt both are type 2 diabetics and my lil bro if tested is likely at least insulin resistant. all three of them have weight issues and have had a hard time loosing weight and or keeping it off. pretty sure it is hereditary to some degree at least in my case. "

" like Rc1 said women with PCOS typically have what they call "insulin resistance". it may or may not show up in your bloodwork, or you may be termed "pre-diabetic". it all depends i guess though because it does seem to affect everyone a little differently. "

" I just found out today that I have PCOS and the doctor said that I have no insulin problems but I have a major thyroid issue I don't know how to handle this. I am worried that I may never get pregnant when my boyfriend and I make that step to the future. Both my mom and grandmother had a lot of issues with getting pregnant but they have not been diagnosed with PCOS. "
