Getting rhinoplasty next month... i've done endless research on this topic... but it's something i've wanted to do for many years now & finally have the money to do it. Excited & nervous at the same time. Anybody have experience with this...please share your stories as I'd love to read about them!

" my son had his nose done when he was young -14 yrs old. His brother moved his nose across his face when he hit him with the barn door. So he had to have his nose redone. It was not so bad. He did not black and blue from keeping the ice packs on. He was fine after a week. Just be careful not to bump your nose after. Do what the doctor says. "

" i just had rhinoplasty last tuesday, and let me tell you...its pretty painful!! It was pry the fact that i had sinus surgery done at the same time..and also what all they have to do when you get it, but its not a fun deal! I finally get my splint off on wednesday so i get to see what it looks like for thee first time!! im sooo excited:]! I actually did have to black eyes and i could hardly see at all. I know for a FACT that it will be worth it all. The first week is the hardest, i NEVER thought it would be so bad though, and going through it was an experience to say the least! If you have any questions at all though id answer them of coarse! "

" Hey I had my nose done a few months ago on my 18th birthday. I had no pain but please be careful that you're in good health before you undergo surgery. I felt slightly sick the night before but put it down to nerves. However after the op i got very ill, and contracted septecemia and all sorts because I had a virus which normally is mild but the surgery lowered my immune system and it came out very bad. This is very very unlikely my nose looks amazing and it wasn't painful so don't worry just take care of yourself "

" I had my nose done about 1 1/2 yrs. ago. I am now very pleased with the result. Here is how it went for me: No pain during or after the surgery, however it is hard to breath. The first night was the worse because my nose was full of dried up blood (I didn't have the cotton up mine)and my throat was very sore and dry...So that was difficult. The most pain I endured was when they took the splint off. OMG!! That was HORRIBLE! It felt like they were ripping my nose off slowly. The main problem that I have with mine is that inside my nose before the surgery was quite narrow, so making it smaller did not help. I don't produce mucous like I used to - pretty dry, still bleeds, and I would get massive headaches. The swelling also sticks around for quite some time. A year is when the sweeling should be done, but mine still swells up now and then (when I fly on a plane, wake up in the morning, etc...) I actually had my wisdom teeth pulled out about a week before my rhinoplasty and I can tell you that it hurt far more to get my teeth pulled then to get my nose broken, resized and shaped! Good luck hun! "
