Is he a sexist?

For a while now, if I have a problem with something ..jake.. has done or said, he will ask me if I am on my period. I feel crushed. And when I tell him "why does that matter" (even when I'm not on it), he will say "you are! If you have any complaints about me you sit on them for a week and then talk to me about it!" He also states that women are chemically imbalanced at that time of month, that we're on an emotional rollercoaster, etc.
If I keep trying to disscuss the issue with him at that point, he stares at the computer and turns up his stereo so he cant hear me, and wont acknowledge me.

That, to me, is a pretty degrading comment. Has anyone else been told this?

" you should tell him that men also have a "time of the month" where they are chemically imbalanced too, and that they often experience mood swings, depressed mood and generalized anxiety during that time. They just don't have the actual physical symptom of bleeding from a hoo-hoo.
But yeah, it does sound like he is something of a sexist. "

" He is being verbally abusive by:
1) Invalidating you ("Oh, you're just like this 'cause you're on your period.") as if your thoughts, emotions, etc. don't matter

and

2) Ignoring you

Also, he's not fighting fair. Instead of discussing the topic at hand, he turns it into an attack on you. He completely dodges the issue.

That's what I observe from your comments.

You deserve to be treated better than that.

*hugs* "

" yeah. Right.
My husband tried this with me. I said to him " Oh really? Well, then from what you are saying, I have a reason physically once a month. What would be YOUR reason for being a crab-a** 24/7?"
That was in the beginning when I used to stand up for myself. I probably paid for that one verbally for 3 or 4 days, lol.... "

" I would be inclined to call this man a mysogynist. While a *sexist* may think less of women, a mysongynist truly HATES women. Big difference there. "
