SHOWER PHOBIA...ANYONE ELSE???

This started in 1992 when I was in Crisis ( pregnant and baby died while in womb ). It just started ( I think, I'm trying to recall a Trigger ) It ALWAYS gets worse when
I am under alot of Stress ( normal I think )
Anyone else have this?
I get real scared in the shower because
I have severe Lightheadedness
due to my Chronic Anxiety and
I start DREADING the shower ( I take mine in the evening ) the moment I wake up
as that is something you cant do a gradual
exposure to because you HAVE to shower daily.
After years of this coming & going
I am going to do some DEEP thinking
to see if I can figure this out..
If anyone has ANY suggestions to make this easier
I would greatly appreciate it.

" Water and I aren't that great of friends. Showers are bad, because they combine two of my biggest fear - wet things and hair. I can't give you any suggestions, but just letting you know I'm here for you. "

" Thanks so much hon
I dont mind water at all. I love it
It is the Lightheadedness that
goes with the Anxiety and Stress that makes it worse...
This I think comes from something
in my childhood as it comes
on only when I am in deep Crisis or Stress

" I dont have a fear of showers per say, how ever when in the shower or bath and washing my hair, if anyone comes into the bathroom or wet room whilst I am washing my hair to say I freak would be an under statement!
My mother used to force me to have cold showers and when I washed my hair she would beat me, hence now I freak out when I hear someone entering! "

" You're welcome. ;D That's what friends are for.
I hate it, I like to swim, but when it falls on me [IE - RAIN OR SHOWER], I get really freaked out. I don't like wet things touching me or me touching wet things - mops, dishes, laundry, blankets, towels, rugs, food, countertops, etc. Have you spoken to your doctor? -hugs- "
