I did a dumb thing...

I had a long, long day at work and then went to the local humane society with some blankets and towels I've been saving for them. Then I did a really, really dumb thing. I went over and looked at the available cats/dogs. I bet everyone thought I was nuts because almost every 3rd cat was the same coloring as Dusty and I started choking back the tears. But at some point I realized that all those little souls don't know about my baggage. In fact they might have their own baggage. They just want to be loved and have a warm home. I was happy to see the place so busy and stopped to offer a prayer for every one of them to find a safe/secure home. I guess I'm opening up to the possibility of getting another fur ball when I feel stronger. Still too early, but it's starting to tug at me...so many fur faces with no one to love them back.

" Lady..When my other little guy started going downhill I knew what I needed to do for him and being a Yorkie fan I did look at other yorkies but decided against it.I got a puppy just the opposite of my Giz then I couldnt compare and it isnt this little guys fault that Giz isnt here and he is.He is a pleasant distraction for me and hes so good for Keegan and being that hes a baby he does tug at my heartstrings. He needs me and I need him also so in time I know one will tug at your heart just like Bailey did mine...he doesnt fill the hole Giz left behind...he takes up a different space in my heart..I love my Giz more than anything in the world and I miss him terribly , I rescued Giz from an abusive breeder and Bailey was fortunate to have a good start but hes unsure just as I was when I decided to do this but I know I did the thing...you'll know when its right for you...you'll see some little face and say I need to help him/her..God bless you and you'll be in my thoughts {{{HUGS}}}}} "
