i lost my Suzie last feb but i find that my mind sometimes still plays tricks on me. sometimes out of the corner of my eye i could swear that i see her or her shape but when i look i just realize that it was just a shadow or some other object. the other night i was sitting on the couch and i could swear i seen my dog Suzie laying in her usual spot but when i looked again i realized that it was my other dog Eddie. I went over to pet my dog Eddie but i could not help but shed a tear for my dog Suzie.

" I understand on this. I hear my dog Tinker. Since she disappeared, I have been sleeping with my window raised a tiny bit. She would come to a window to get my attention to come in. I have heard her several times now and run to let her in , only to find that Tinker is not there. I have finally started keeping the window closed but still my mind says she is out there wanting in. " We lost our little girl, Holly a Bichon Frise, in February and I constantly think I can see her. Its been worse these past three weeks as I've been looking after my friends dog a Lhaso, he is the same colour and size as Holly but their faces are of course completely different as are the temperaments but sometimes I seemed to persuade myself that she had returned. I suppose our minds will play tricks for a very long time but I hope that her little spirit has been set free from the pain she was suffering. We loved them and they loved us and will always be around us somewhere. Take heart you gave your Suzie a lovely life while she was with you. "

" That's part of the initial shock and denial phase of grieving....and sometimes, it seems they are with you in spirit. ANd I think that is possible. But it also could be a part of the shock, too.

I think, either way, the important thing is to move through the pain, so those experiences become the happy memories again, and not the sadness.

In time, it will, if you keep working through it. "

" When I lost my little dog, there was a storm that night, I swear I thought I felt him come on the bed with me that night. Then another time it was hearing the little patter of his paws running into the kitchen. I do feel that they are around us, letting us know it is okay. Naukana "
