" I have heard great things about DBT, especially for people like me with BPD - I wish it was offered where I live. I bought a workbook on it and joined a group about it here on Daily Strength (you can find it in my profile). It's the closest I can get to the actual therapy. Let us know how it goes! "

" DBT was fantastic! I wish I was offered the group earlier! I had BPD very severe, and my quality of life severly affected. But after doing some individual DBT skills with a therapist then joining a DBT group I now have some very useful life skills. I wouldnt say it is a cure, it is something you have to be extremely committed to doing, even after the group has ended. There is lots of homework and a diary you have to do.

I've now been told i dont fulfill the criteria for BPD anymore!!! I still struggle with some symptoms and learnt behaviour/thinking BPD style, but not enough now for it to be classified. There is hope! "

" Hi ya, Ive been doing dbt for the last year or so and to be honest with you I have found it works. You have to go with an open mind and do the homework they set you and make sure you practice. My life is no way as caotic as it was before "
