I sure wish there were more members in this group, not that I wish ulcers on anyone, but to have someone to talk with.
Yesterday, I had a Slimfast for breakfast, along with my ususl a.m. meds, and a yogurt for lunch. Whammo!!!! About an hour later I was hit with pain so severe in my stomach that I had to call 911 and take an ambulance ride to the ER. I have gone through chemo, radiation therapy, surgeries,and child birth. But never anything like this. The pain was terrible, and I ususally tolerate pain quite well. I was discharged with -- maybe gastritis. I have to see my GI doctor next week. In the meantime, I'm on another stomach med, and can't eat dairy, red meat, anything with much fiber, cereals,raw veggies, and because of the cancer, can't eat soy--not much left! Maybe I'll at least loose more weight. At least that's a good thing! I just don't understand the complexity of ulcers! Posted on 10/31/06, 10:10 pm |

I have Peptic Ulcer Disease, and I went to the hospital early Tuesday morning 1am. I had severe crushing chest pains, I couldn't barely breathe. Turns out the Pepcid 20mg x 2 daily is not doing a damn thing for me, and I had a UTI. I've been through labor (both ended in c-section) and this pain was monsterous. I have to see my doc next Wednesday, for new meds. [Insert sarcasm] I just hope this stupid chest pains stop.

Stress is a HUGE factor in ulcers, same as anxiety and should be taken into consideration with ulcers. I cannot believe your doctor said that!
