My mom experiencing leg (both) jerking. It use to be a night problem and would wake her up. Now this happen during the day as well. I told her neurologist, he ordered EEG test. We have done that last week. No news so far.
If anybody experiencing same problem how do you deal with it? Is it related to PD? How can I help mom? It seems very painful for her. I usually massage her legs and it get easier, but it repeats again and again.
I feel helpless.

" Hello, I'm certainly not an expert on any of this, but you Mom could be suffering from RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome).. As there aren't any definative tests for PD, her Neurologist, in my opinion, is doing the right thing by having the EEG test done. Did he also schedule blood work? My guess is he'll put her on Requip which is the most prescribed medicine for RLS and is also used for people in the early stages of PD.

Wish your Mom the best as well as you and your family.... Happy 4th of July to y'all.

Ron "

" Hi, I posted a question similar to this one not long ago. I also, have severe leg jerking, although not at night, if I'm sleeping, only when I'm awake. However, the dr. said it was part of PD and gave me an increase in my Mirapex, which seemed to work.

God Bless,
::LEE "

" Thanks Ron,

He didn't schedule any blood work, I will ask him about that. She really suffers from it. Thanks for your input!
