I would like to know your opinions on fighting this terrible back and leg pain. It switches from side to side. We were traveling when it hit and I could hardly sit or lay down for the rest of the trip. I had pt and cortizone shots, but it didn't help much. The only time it didn't hurt was standing. I finally in desperation went to a chiropractor. It helped with time, but now he thinks I should be adjusted every few weeks. Do any of you do this?

" I also suffered from sciatica; after about a year of discomfort, my back still feels tight, but at least I do not have the pain running down my leg. Cortizone and physical therapy did little to help me. Went to a chiropractor, too. After he did his adjustments I felt worse. He wanted to put me on a weekly regiment but I was afraid of what all those manipulations were doing to my back and declined further adjustments. I then went to a pain management specialist and he verified that my sciatic nerve was being compromised due to some bulging discs. He wanted to start injections but, I was afraid of further back complications. I decided to finish out the pain medication I had been given and to just let it run its course. It took about a year for the pain to subside. In the meantime, I continued to live off of Ibuprofen and at night I would have to sleep on my back with pillows propped under my knees. I hope you can find relief from the pain. "
