Parkinson’s at Steele Creek Park
Bristol Tennessee Dear Friends, We are currently planning the 3rd annual social event at Steele’s Creek Park. This year’s event is scheduled for June 13-15, 2008. Our event is organized to give our support group members, online support group members and their families an opportunity to meet and socialize in an entertaining environment. We anticipate having people with Parkinson’s and caregivers and their families attending from many states and possibly from other countries. Last years event had an attendance of approximately 60 people representing 8 states. This year will have the same agenda! On Friday we are having a meet and greet social mixer from 6-9 pm at our host motel, the LaQuinta Inn , 1014 Old Airport Road in Bristol Virginia . There phone number is 276/669-9353. On Saturday, We will meet at Steele Creek Park in Bristol Tennessee for a day of music and socializing as well as the art show of local and other artists and an auction. This will be scheduled from 11 am until 7 pm. Lunch and dinner will be served. On Sunday we will meet out of towners and see them off and possibly lay around the pool for a bit! We also would like to announce the participation of Parkiejam (parkiejam.org) this year! We are extending a special invitation to those members, since our event is music oriented and this chat room is as well! We are anticipating many musicians and talented writers from this group! Pre registration is suggested and the form may be obtained from Mike Johnston by email (tennmike1957@yahoo.com ) or by calling 423/360-3790. Or you may also contact Judy Hensley by email (judy4etsu@yahoo.com). Registration is $25/person or a immediate family maximum of $75. There is no charge for children under 6. Sounds like so much fun.. I will be there in my heart with you guys. Obviously mom is in no condition to travel and I can't leave her, but I am so happy for all of you. What a wonderful thing to do!
