well, now the daycare has informed me that my son cant be at daycare more than ten hours a day. they say it is a state regulation but their surveyerat the health dept says that is a lie. i think they want to get rid of my son because of his behavior problems and know they cant without reprocussions. they know i am a single parent who pays my childs total tuition out of my own pocket so i have to work alot of hours. i think they hope that if they tell me he cant stay the amount of time that he does, then i will pull him out of their daycare. they wont win that easily. as for his new therapist, she is going to get him in case management and hopefully into theraputic preschool. she also wants to see him every week. he was good 3 out of 5 days last week...yippee. but this week only 1 good day so far. well i hope everyone has a good 4th of july and i will keep updating you.

" my daughters daycare charges 10.00 for every 10 minutes over 10 hrs. My daycare is at school and they close at 5:45 so I couldn't leave her over 10 hrs even if I wante to. They say their rates are based on 10 hr days. What about people who work 10 hr days, I have that option at my work and chose not to do it because of daycare. ood luck. "

" I understand how hard it is to find good daycare for a difficult child. I really lucked out though because my son's day care teacher has 3 ADHD sons so she totally understands my child. I think it has helped him also. They really work with me to tell me what kind of good day he had and what happened to make it a bad day. "

" I am a Daycare provider in NYS and you pretty much set your own hours you just can't have children for a full 24 hours a day. It is difficult to find daycare for a difficult child alot of providers don't want to deal with difficult children if your child is hurting the other children it is especially hard I have had a chil slap me in the face me kick me trip me and I kept him in my care it isn't the childs fault totaly the child has a problem and ytour provider needs to learn how to deal with your child.

Good luck,
Nancie "

" i guess i could give a little more background into the daycare thing. my son has been going there since mid march. since then i have had to leave him there over 10 hours a total of 59 days due to work. i had my job print out my time records for me so i could check this out. all of a sudden it is a state regulation not an internal policy. i checked the state statuut for licensing daycares and this policy is nowhere to be found. i also asked the daycare why this was not stated in their policy letters they hand out when you enroll. they said "oh, oh yeah. we need to add that." this all leads me to believe that there is another reason for all this. thanks for all your inputs. i greatly appreciate all of it. " i have asked them to show me this regulation and am still waiting for them to produce it. if there were such regulation, the county health department would be aware of it. they are sanctioned to carry out state laws at county levels. like i said...there is probably no regulation. this is their way of trying to get me to pull him out of their daycare. it is a daycare center. i would never again put him in a home daycare. the daycare he has already been kicked out of was in a home. the provider kicked him out after 2 days of misbehaving, kept his personal belongings, lied to the police about having them, and called srs and lied to them that i was abusing my son. her claims against me were found to be false. she also wouldnt return his medical papers to me, which in this state is against the law. my son never hit anyone till he went to her daycare. i just dont know. he starts pre-kindergarten in 2 months. so i hope that will take care of some of this problem.
