I have been having panic attacks since 2004. I changed my diet, eliminated caffiene, stimulants and anything that could possibly bring on an attack. I do not want to have to be bound to medication, but it seems that it's all doctors want to give. I would like to find a support group and possible therapist in my area that understands panic attacks and can help me resolve them by natural methogs rather than resorting to medication. Does anyone know how I might find someone in the Cleveland area?

" go to your local library and ask for some books on overcoming panic disorder or agoraphobia, be aware that some therapists still are having panic attacks etc themselves, in other words they cay they can cure others but they cant or wont cure themselves
a refusal to take meds suggests excessive pride, proud people sometimes wont learn the recovery skills needed "

" You could look for a psychiatrist who also specializes in homeopathic remedies. Try searching for one on the web. My friend's son had good results with one. I'm not sure, however, if homeopathic remedies work if you've already taken medication. See what the doctor says. I tried many things, but ended up taking an SSRI which works really well for me. I'd much rather take a medication than live in constant fear. Good luck. "

" I started taking the SSRI last night. I have to say I felt worse and had 2 panic attacks. They say it will take 4-6 weeks to feel better. I will look into the homeopathic route and see what therapists are out there. "
