" its a different type of AD to paxil so assuming the paxil didnt agree with you, the new one might

it can be a long search to find an AD that you can cope with and works for your anxiety, basicly the docs are only guessing too "

" I'm in the process of switching from Paxil to Effexor. I understand that Cymbaltta is in the same group of meds as Effexor. How did your switch you? My doctor has me taking 37.5mg of Effexor along with my normal 20mg of Paxil. "

" I think cymbalts is different from effexor, but ask a pharmacist it can take several attemprs before finding an AD that works and has side effects you can cope with

if you are lucky to find one that works for you I suggest you stay on it for about 6 months unless it stops working sooner

theres much trial and error and guesswork involved in prescribing ADs "

" I was taken off of Paxil CR after being on it for about 10 years. I went through terrible withdrawal, but only because the idiot state doctor didn't know that the dose needed to be stepped down instead of just taken away immediately. I hope this doesn't scare you, because it sounds like your doctor knows what he's doing and I'm sure he's stepping you down properly. I personally didn't like the Cymbalta when I tried it, but I've talked to people who absolutely love it. It depends on the person. Every one is different. I hope you are one of the people that loves the Cybalta. "

" I went from 300mg venlaflaxine to 60mg dulaxatine, coming off the venlafaxine was a nightmare. The dulaxatine is a tad better than the venlafixine but whilst being depressed I have developed a panic disorder. "
