Panic Attacks while Sleeping???

Has anyone experienced waking during the night having a Panic Attack?? This has happened to me the past two nights and I was just curious if I was alone on this. My other question would be about Memory Loss. Do Panic Attacks affect your memory in any way? Thanks in advance for any input.

" Thank you for the response, that's a relief to hear. You can't help but feel like you're losing your mind sometimes with these things. It's nice to know someone understands exactly how I feel. Thanks again! "

" Yes, I have had a few nocturnal attacks which seem to be more severe than the ones that happen during the day. I was supposed to go back to work last Tuesday and I woke up with the worst attack in the middle of the night and it took 4 hours for me to feel comfortable enough to go back to sleep. Also, I believe high levels of anxiety do affect memory. I know my memory has been crap lately. "

" Hey.. I know what you mean about feeling like you're losing your mind. Absolutely. I previously had gotten panic attacks in the middle of the night and they're really scary when they jolt you awake. "

" Thanks for the input. Last night was worse than the previous two nights. I woke up every two hours absolutely terrified, but I wasn't sure what I was terrified of, although I think I might have actually seen something in my room (hallucination maybe?) Are these Night Terrors??? Today I feel exhausted and a little confused. I hope this series of attacks ends soon...it's exhausting! Thanks guys.... "

" I think night terrors are when you move about when you're still sleeping.. If you're half awake and half asleep you may actually be dreaming. Know what I mean? Sounds like panic attacks. "

" I think what I wrote didn't make much sense.. Stayed up late last night.. What I meant to say is if you're just coming out of a dream and are half awake, you may still be dreaming and think you're seeing something that isn't actually there. "

" Ugh! I hate when that happens. Damn panic attacks. I just started getting them recently . Fortunately not every night now, but I do still get em' here and there. And they are not fun. Waking up just freaking out!!! I used to just take an ativan , but then when that wears off , Im right back in one.

Also the memory thing happens to me as well. "

" you're def not alone.. this has been happening to me this past week like crazy.. it is really making me mad too.. i will go through the day and think i did well and then wake up in the middle of the night having a panic attack.. i had one in my dream.. and woke up and then had a real one.. sucks... and about memory.. mine sucks.. and i always have like these like flash back things.. where when i have an attack i can feel the exact same way as i did many years ago and start thinking/feeling like i did in the past.. i dunno if that makes sense to any of you.. but it weirds me out..
