This is my first message to the group. I now know that the episodes I had in the past were panic attacks, not a heart attack since I spoke to my doctors and a mental health professional. I can remember experiencing about 4 in the past 4 years, but is increasing lately. Since I found out, it is happening almost every hour usually in the afternoon. It's just mostly the tightness in the chest but gets worst if I think about it more. I am ready to do any kind of therapy and won't do medication. I am waiting for a book that the doctor suggested. I can drive and do most of the things I used to do by myself. I'm going back to work on Monday and is a bit worried. I am open to any words of wisedom. Thanks.

" Panic attacks are so tricky. They can come on at any given time without notice. I had to take off two weeks from work just to get through these. I know you do not want to take medication and believe me, neither did I but when I am on meds I think so much clearer and am not afraid to do anything. In other words, I get to live my life. I hope everything works out for you! "
