Yesterday I tried to exercise and go for a walk and when I was done, It took a while for my heart to beat normal again. I was ok after a while but then when I took a shower I had a major panic attack getting out of the shower. So now Im thinking that the walk triggered it, who knows what do you guys think????????????

" Honestly I don't think walking triggered your panic attack. Walking as you know is a form of exercise and that releases endorphins in your brain, the happy hormones. Unless you can think of something during your walk that bothered or upset you?
I would say keep walking it's good for you.
What normally causes your panic attacks? If you don't mind me asking? "

" have you ever thought about going to see a therapist? Maybe you could work through the feelings and think it out, find the source and work from there. "

" I have been srtuggling with this exact same thing! I was contemplating going for a slow walk today.

Would you like to start a walk journal with me? We can read eachother journals to see how long we walked and send hugs for each day we make it through even just a walk around the block? "

" the therapist you went to see was it a psychiatrist? I think only they can prescribe meds. I have been seeing a psychotherapist, and she can't prescribe meds but it is talking therepy. Maybe you should be seeing a psychotherapist instead. It's worth a try you are worth it! "

" Know what? i had that same exact problem! I kept having panic attacks each time I went out with my dogs. I starting worry that it was my walking so I was talking about quiting walking the dogs that I have been walking for 6 years. Well one of my Pysch teachers told me that the whole reason I was having a panic attack while walking was because I was always worried about something. something negative was always on my mind. Well it just so happens that when I have my Panic Attacks was when I was walking and she said that thats why I was assuming that it was because of my walking but it wasnt. I do not remember what she said that whole mental thing was called. But to make a long story short its just basically all in your head. :) "

" I think that you should make yourself go for a walk, even if its just a short one or if you bring someone with you, just to prove to yourself that you can walk again!
Maybe after that, find places that are more relaxing to walk, or in a less stressful environment (drive yourself to a park or beach and walk there instead of just around your neighborhood). Try bringing water with you or a cell phone in case you feel like you need to call someone if you do panic. The little things help :) "

" Don't stop walking that is a very healthy thing to do. You are probably adding fear to the panic with your internal thoughts. Just go slowly, keep positive thoughts in your mind and deep breath. "
