I was advised to try tramadol for anxiety and panic...anyone ever use it??

I never heard of it. But I looked it up and it is an opiate pain reliever. Can't imagine why your dr. wants you to take this for anxiety and panic. Don't be afraid to question your physician. I have found that sometimes I know what is better for me than my dr. does. Go figure, and I pay him! lol

in theory it should help as it has a narcotic like action, narcotics are effective and used for severe anxiety sufferers in hospitals
I havent heard of anxiety sufferers being helped by it though its thought that some panic disorder sufferers are self medicating with heroin

My dr gave me some to help me sleep. He gave me the lowest doseage. I took half the pill one night and I felt like I had jet lag the entire next day. (It's actually an anti-depressant)
