So here it starts. At nineteen years of age I have chronic pancreatitis. What happens now? How will this effect my life? What do I have to worry about or watch out for? This is all confusing for me as nobody has been able to answer these questions. The specialist that did my EUS wants to start me on Sandostatin LAR, which will cost me $1250 a month and I have no clue how I will react to...1 Recommendation -

I am a 20 year old female, grew up in los angeles. The week before my freshman year of college (almost 2 yrs ago) I was diagnosed with chronic idiopathic pancreatitis. Doctors concluded I was merely a "genetic anomaly." I was in extreme denial. Everyone around me binge drank. I dated an alcholic frat boy. Didn't take my enzymes like I was told to.... -

Hi Friends,
Just wanted to update my friends at this website. My sister finisehd her chemo in June and there is no new cancer on the cat scans. She takes a cat scan every 2 months. It is a very scarey time when the cat scans are due. My sister Pam is now taking a trial at the University of Chicago. They are giving a vaccine every 2 weeks. It is called CEA. ...1 Recommendation -

Well its official...I`m now 47 years young today.Wasn`t I just twenty?? LOL Every year the kids ask what I want.This year I KNEW exactly I wanted.Its a four foot ladder with a red top.Since I am only 4`11 a ladder makes great sense.After they got done rolling on the floor in fits of laughter they asked what I really wanted.I haven`t seen them laugh so hard since I started painting our kitchen.Ok...1 Recommendation3 Comments -

What do they always say when it rains it pours....Well it's raining. I finally got my medication from the VA for nausea and it's NOT EVEN FOR NAUSEA. It's Metoclopramide HCL 10 MG.
I wondered why it wasn't doing anything and looked it up on the net and it's primarely for gastric reflux. I am NAUSEATED....I don't have gastric reflux.

Morning,
Don't feel real well this morning. Nauseated as usual. Nausea meds still not here the Damn meds weren't even relased until 7-7 on Monday. Damn VA.

Ive through some pain of differant sorts in my life,
But it wasnt until I started getting friends and listening in groups that even though I dont want to undermine the pain I ve gone through and from time to time it still gets bad both physically and mentally.
But I never thought I would meet so many hurt souls right there with me and in many,many cases much worse!!

As I make my way through the fog, stepping ever so tentatively as to avoid a misstep and a possible twisted ankle, or worse, I look around and realize that I have never been here before, but I feel incredibly comfortable in this place. I wonder where I can possibly be, and how I got here. I have no recollection of any of it –where I am, how I got here, or why I am here.
