Hi z06,
Well, you will need to have a good gastroenterologist at least. If you have any major complications you will need to have one that will send you to a University setting. I am a RN and my twin sister is very ill with chronic pancreatitis diagnosed last year from a pancreatic divisium (genetic defect). We have found that a regular MD can't care for her and when the gastroenterologist needed help he sent her to the University of Chicago. She had a ERCP for blockages and now they are not sure but she may need to have surgery....it is cancer. But my sister is also diabetic so she goes to a endocrinologist for that. She now takes insulin due to the worsening blood sugar levels since the pancreattis flairups. You can really be managed pain, bloodwork, etc by a good gastroenterologist as long as you don't have major complications. Can you work right now? Are you on lots of meds? Do you have a good support system at home? Glad you joined the Support group. Best of luck and hope today is good to you. Pat
