" My mother did not make it to radiation and she didn't take the pills for chemo. We did meet with the radioligist and he told us once she started she would probably get weaker and sleep more. He also said some people respond differently. Sorry I can't be more helpful. I hope your sister tolerates the treatment well. Please let me know how she's doing. I will say a special prayer for her and your family. Debbie "

" My husband started his treatments with radiation and a chemo pump he wore 24/7. He didn't take the chemo pills until his second or third round. I think the chemo pump was harder on him than the pills. It's a nasty disease and my heart goes out to you and your sister. Hang in there, take one day at a time. I'll keep you in my prayers.
Shelly "

" Hi,
Not sure what kind of pills that you are talking about. Radiation can help, is your sister on a trail? My sister is on Gemzar. She has 3 more months to go on the chemo. She gets a cat scan every 3 months and it is hell to worry if the cancer has come back each time. I'm trying to be positive! My sister, who is also my twin, had a whipple in Oct. No mets and no lymph node involvement. But they still only give her a 15% chance of survival. I guess I just have to keep positive and keep the faith. Let us know more about the pills that your sister is taking and about her prognosis. Hope all will be well with your sister and keep the faith.

" I am so sorry your sister is not tolerating the chemo very well. My mother did almost the same thing. She only had one or two treatments and her blood count dropped so low that they couln't continue and when they did it was only lower doses that was not effective. She was taking Gemzar. I'll pray for your sister and you and please let me know how she is doing. "
