My last chemo I had a major case of the dry mouth. I bought Biotin a toothpaste for dry mouth, but does anyone have any suggestions to help? For me, the dry mouth is almost as bad as the nausea right after chemo. Help!!

" There's a new product on the market called XyliMelts, manufactured by Orahealth. You can buy it from them at www.Orahealth.com. Basically, it's a time-release formula of Xylitol in a tablet that adheres to your tooth or gums. Many people report that putting one tablet in each cheek at bedtime allows them a full night's sleep. It's safe for nighttime use because it clings strongly to your tooth or gums. Of course, it is fine for daytime use, too, and has the added benefit of lowering bacteria counts, which helps to prevent tooth decay.
Good luck!

" First of all you need to avoid all caffine. Chemo acts like a sponge and sucks all the fluids out of your body. That is why you find yourself going to the bathroom more. If you do drink a cup of tea or coffee you need to drink twice the amount of water to make up for it. Did you ask your Dr. about what you could do? I had the same problem. Coffee had the worst effect on me. Good luck. "
