So I recently met up (last week) with an individual that had slathered his lips in carmex before we kissed.
That should have been the sign for me. But of course, i didn't think anything of it. Now i have three lovely cold sores on my bottom lip, one on my lip, two below, and i am absolutely devastated. No one i talk to understands how upset i am, i have never ever gotten any cold sores in my 22 years of living. I bought abreva, anbesol, and orajel (i have a canker sore inside my mouth too) and i'm trying to figure out what else i can do. I don't want to go out in public. Now heres my problem. Saturday i went to the express care place near my apartment because i couldn't swallow. They told me i have strep. I started my antibiotics that afternoon, and still haven't really seen much improvement. Should i be worried that it's the virus? Would they have told me? Well, the only thing I can suggest to you as of now, is to be completely honest with your doctors. What i mean by that is, if you have even a little symptom of any kind, still mention it to him. you would never know if it would be something that would lead to what your actually dealing with. Also, don't stress!! when you stress over it more, you will just make the sores worse. and it wouldn't be good to over react. i know it's frustrating and hard to try and not worry about, but trust me!! just try to relax until then. and if it was anything serious, they would have told you by now. i mean, when the doctor told me, it was immediate! because not only do i have oral herpes, but also genital. but also, do you know HOW MANY people have oral herpes?? try at least 1 out of 4 i think. not every one is staring at a small sore. i just had 3 all on my mouth, and no one noticed. and if you find out anything, you can let me know or if you just wanna talk. ok? don't stress!!

i guess its just hard for me because i went for so long without them... and now i have three huge ones... and two little ones just showed up next to them!
I really want to cry right now because i just want them gone. i havent left my apartment in two days, other than to get my antibiotics.

Don't stress. That'll make them worse. I have an outbreak whenever I get sick too. It's rough but just try to keep it moist. They will subside.

hey. so im kinda going through the same thing. I noticed these bumps on top of my lip and they dont seem to be just pimples. And ever since I saw them Ive been having a sore throat and feeling like I have strep.. im going to TRY and go to the doctors tomorrow... because im scared of what this is.. =/ ill let you know if I found anything out.
