" Cannot get any CBT on the uk nhs. is waiting lists for years. would cost £40+ per session for 50 mins if go to a private practise. and don't know if it would work. So cannot risk my little savings in that. "

" It depends how severe your OCD is. I was given a residential place within 3 months. It certainly doesn't take years. I think out-patient therapy takes around eight months. "

" I heard that if you can't get CBT for whatever reason, you can get some books on it. It is just retraing your thinking to go through something.

Like if you have an intrusive thought, instead of fighting it, you would recognize it for what it is and work through it always knowing that it was just a stupid intrusive thought. "

" I have been in CBT for the last 5 years. I have learned tools to help but I am currently going through a difficult time with my OCD and so it definately doesnt cure but does help you learn how to manage better. "
