I am morbidly obese. I have torn cartlidge in my knees which makes it somewhat painful to walk. I can walk but I am very, very slow at it. I can do the stationary bike as well. What other exercises would be good for me to do? I figure anything at this point is better than nothing which is what I've been doing...nothing. Very depressed about it still gaining weight too. :( I've got to get a grip on myself. I don't know if my level of walking or the stationary bike is very helpful sometimes I feel it is not but like I said anything at this point. I just need to get moving I guess.

" walking slow is just as good hun... slow and steady wins the race...

take it easy and just do light weights and walking till you're stronger on your knees and increase when you're comfortable and no pain :) and diet is the major key in it :)

good luck and you can do it "

" if there's a pool around that you feel comfortable in (i know, it's hard to find) you could always swim. if you don't feel comfortable at all doing that though, i wouldn't want you to. keep up the walking and the stationary bike and you will get faster and stronger as time goes by. you're doing something good for you and that's what matters. " Hello Java,

I can relate to what you are going through. I haven't been active for a very long time and just started getting into some exercise again.

Not easy and quite painful at times however I have found a site that has over 700 DVD's or VHS tapes that have a variety of different exercise. There are tapes for seated exercise as well. You can also view clips of all these tapes to see if it is something that you might like.

You can also request a catalog for free. They have exercise tapes for designed for plus size as well as for people with medical issues. I ordered the chair exercise DVD's as I heard they really helped a few people on this site. Also if you click on speciality videos you will see quite a variety of different exercise. Here is the link to the site if you are interested. I hope this helps a bit hugggsssssss to ya:)

" i was watching tv today, and a woman on it suggested doing leg lifts when you're brushing your teeth. i thought that was a brilliant idea. it's 2 minutes and you can stop whenever you want. the personal trainer on the show also agreed that anything you can do that adds up to 30 minutes a day is beneficial.
