Well, I guess this is the part that I tell my story, right? Well, I'm 340lbs... don't look so shocked! I'm also 6'2", so it's a LITTLE more proportionate than it could be but it's not any healthier. I still jiggle, I still overeat, I'm still gonna suffocate in my sleep.

I eat emotionally, I eat when I'm bored, etc. I don't exercise because I don't have ANY energy. I can hardly get up in the morning... well now you're all picturing some beached whale, right?

That's what I see in the mirror. I'm HUGE! And I don't know how to fix it, and I KNOW walking is good or swimming, or just starting with eating breakfast but even all that is soooo hard most days.

Help! Or just hugs...

Thank you...

" I've been there many times-not enough energy to lift my arm, let alone exercise. B12 shots helped a little. I think my problem was related to low thyroid. I have been on thyroid med for 3 years now and I am much better. "

" Start with a journal. Write down each evening what you hope to accomplish the next day. If it's eating healthier, then write down a meal plan and check it off as you go. Start exercising by putting one foot in front of the other...literally. Even if it's walking for 15 minutes a day. Eventually, it will get better and you'll likely see your energy level rise. As far as b-12...if you're not lacking it, it won't help.

I would honestly, recommend talking with someone at your dr's office and getting a hold of a diabetic diet...don't freak out...it's just a very balanced diet that is high enough in calories, that it won't leave you hungry. I find that these are good for folks just starting out because it gives you example menus. It's truly a matter of lifestyle change...this, i'm sure you already know. Once you make the decision to change...it's just a matter of executing it...you're worth it! "

" No one here looks shocked at your size. I am shorter than you and weigh more. So what we are all here for the same reason and some of us are bigger than others.

I know exactly what you are going through. A year ago I freaked if I had to walk to far from my car to the store and was all out of breath.
Now though I park as far as I can and enjoy the walk and I never get winded even though I am still so big. It is part changing your lifestyle and part changing your frame of mind.

Start small. Make baby goals. The more you meet those baby goals the better you will feel about yourself and you will see the more you can do. You have a 2 year old daughter and they are full of energy, play with her each day outside for a few minutes to get some exercise in. Or walk around your yard and then walk further and further. Start small by setting the goal to eat one healthy meal per day and as you accomplish that move on to two per day and so on. Set a goal to drink enough water each day because that is so important as well.
Make a list of the small goals you want to accomplish and check them off as you do so you can see your progress. Just remember to start small, the smaller goals will help you set and accomplish larger goals. You can do it, the hard part is just getting started. "

" Thank you for the advice... i'm missing a lot out on water! i don't like the taste (ick) but i'll try

a diabetic diet? sounds reasonable... i suspect i'll end up with diabetes at the rate i'm going. or with a heart attack. i already needed my gall bladder removed because of all the fat in my diet.

i like the idea of a goal list the night before... which would incorporate those baby steps. problem with my baby steps, is i do one and then stop... and USUALLY go back a step too.

sigh

i know you guys can relate, but it sucks! this is so hard! "

" Ok so your are worried that if you make a goal list you will do one thing on it and then take two steps back. So why not just put one goal on your list per day? That way you only have one thing to accomplish that day and will not feel guilty if you miss another goal you made for yourself that day.

So lets say for a few days, weeks, or whatever amount of time you set for yourself you have the same goal. Lets go with drinking all the water per day you are supposed to be drinking. Once you get good at getting all your water in, then make a new goal for every day such as eatting breakfast. That way you are making progress, but are not overwhelming yourself.

And don't be discouraged if you miss a goal or mess up a day it is called being human. We all mess up and miss goals. The important thing is to pick yourself back up and start over. "

" If you walk just 10 minutes a day, you are adding an hour a week of exercise. If you can manage that 2 times a day, you add twice as much.

I know that it doesn't feel like much when you are doing it, but you will definitely see an increase in your energy with that, and its all cumulative! Don't discount a little bit of exercise!

Also, one thing that helps me is to have 10 pound dumbells handy. I lift them whenever I think about it. If I watch a YouTube vid, for example, I will maximize the vid and do some reps with my dumbells.

I also put on ankle weights when I am just walking around the house. If I am heating up food at the stove I do some leg exercises while I am waiting.

Just think in those terms and try to fit in as much as you can throughout the day. A pedometer might help. Set a step goal and then make sure you meet it every day. "

" Thanks minkies... it really doesn't feel like much, so I didn't think it was doing anything. 10 minute walk? I guess that's not much time, but it really doesn't seem like much lol :( "
