I have been reading all the topics in this group, and I am starting to wonder, if I am the only fatty that loves herself? While it is not healthy to be overweight, and we should really try in all earnest to loose weight. But why must we hate ourselves for being overweight? Ask yourself...do you hate yourself for having a certain hair color?? eye color?? etc.. Having a weight issue is something that is inherited, my weight issues come from child birth, poor diet, and low income living. Now due to the weight I suffer from diabetes. But I will be damned if I am gonna hate me because of it. You just need to get educated in healthy eating. I refuse to use the word diet..it is so negative. I used to weigh 429 and even then I loved myself. Please you guys, once you get a better attitude about yourself, things will change. Remember, you NEVER need another person to validate you!!!! you are beautiful and have alot to offer...BIG LOVE

I think you just mentioned the Secret to success... as human beings, we tend to take good care of our treasures... and don't take such good care of things that discust us, or don't care for in general. I believe that also applies to our bodies.

I totally agree. Thanks for saying this. It is so sad that so many post thing like 'I hate myself' amd 'I failed again', it is nice to see someone who is fat and proud.
However I don't think you can say it is either healthy or unhealthy to be overweight. I believe someone's health is determined by many factors not only their weight, such as drinking, smoking, drugs, exercise, food, and others. It also makes a difference whether you are trying to be healthy. Someone who is fat but is exercising and eating healthily to me is healthier than someone who is skinny and eating McDonalds all day - and yes, those skinny people do exist. It is a total myth that only fat people eat junk food. Also I am a Type 1 diabetic. Many other T1 girls(not me luckily) develop 'diabulimia', where they go without insulin in order to be thinner. They are thus thin but very unhealthy, many go blind and develop other complications. The endless pursuit of thinness is not all its cracked up to be.
