Has anyone had elavil prescribed from them?

I was given Elavil once and it made me terribly sleepy and "hung-over" the next day. It can make you gain a LOT of weight...so be careful and try not to eat at night after you take the medication. You can consume a LOT of calories without even realizing it. (kinda like ambien eating, if you've ever heard that term) Elavil is also given for pain and depression. Docs. give it for various reasons. Mine was insomnia. Hugs, Becky
