I'm starting Weight Watchers again on Friday. When I joined two years ago it helped. I lost 20 pounds which I've since regained. Just wondering what others think of WW.

" Well I have done WW and it does work. I lost over a hundred pounds on that diet after I had my first son. However, I did put about 65 back on. I found it a bit hard and I also didn't like the weigh ins. I felt it was too much pressure and for me it was not the right thing after awhile. I do however kinda follow it, I count calories and look for low cal options and kinda follow the points system. I just come on here for my support instead of paying 14 dollars a week for support. Its free here and I get more support here than I did going to the meetings. I have a few girls that I do daily food logs with and that has helped me so much. GOod luck to you with WW. Hugs Denise "

" WW is a solid program. I lost 40lbs on it about 2yrs ago. Once I quit the program, I regained 20 of those pounds; so, I joined again. The 2nd time around, it was much more difficult for me to stay motivated, and I didn't click at all with the staff at that location. Like Denise, I found the weigh-ins a little difficult to handle; plus, I felt judged - not supported - by the women weighing me in at that office. I went alone and felt judged while I was there - a recipe for weight gain. Yeah, so now I'm up to 30lbs regained and recently joined this site for - again, like Denise - support that is not only genuine but free. I still have all my WW materials, sliding charts, cookbook, etc. and feel that I know the principles well enough to follow them in general. It's a good step in the right direction, and I hope it works for you! "

" wow i am sorry to hear that there are weight watcher meetings where you have to feel like you are being judged and hate stepping on the scale! that is horribe. have either of you tried other meetings in your area? i am very pleased with the ww meeting i am going to. the scales are easy they are these electronic things that no one sees. i remember when i was young like in middle school my mom put me in this program call T.O.P.S. weigh in sucked, and was embarrassing. it seems to me every experience is different, so try what you think is right for you, and when you find what works for you stick with it!!!! =) "

" I just joined Weight Watchers also. I am on my second week. In the first week I lost 5.4 lbs, which really made me happy. I am really liking it so far. I am learning to cook really great meals. Before this cooking was something I avoided when possible. The people I have met so far have been really friendly and supportive. I do feel anxious about the weekly weigh ins though, but I think that is my own anxiety and nothing to do with the people who are weighing me. Good luck with the program. I wish you lots of success! " I've been on it for several months now and the program does work. You just have to stick to it. You will also find there are some leaders that you will like better than others so check several meetings out. I stopped going and got off plan and gained about 14 pounds of the 32 back. I went back and weighed in and they were glad to see me. They have never made any comment about a gain to anyone. I like the people running our meeting. "
