My husband had Hodgkin's disease a few years ago and had to have a bone marrow transplant, stem cell really I guess because they used his own stem cells. A few weeks ago he had abdominal pain, they thought it was his appendix but it turned out to be an orange sized tumor. They removed it but he will have to have chemo again and they say possibly another transplant. Is anyone familiar with or does anyone have any experience with this?

My mom had a reoccurance, however, it had transformed. As long as your husbands is still the same hodkins and has not changed, he should be able to continue his treatments and fight it just like he did a few years ago. Unfortunately it is never curable, and some have treatments every few years. Stay positive and do what needs to be done. I will pray for you and wish you much love in this journey.

Non-hodkins as I am sure the docs told you, he may go into remission, then after a few years have some treatments... I know people who have had it for decades and just have treatments anywhere b/t 2-5 years and they lead an absolutely wonderful life. My mom's had transformed to a more aggressive cancer, she fell into that 2% that is rare based on the statistics. Don't base anything on my story, so many people do wonderfully, not that it's not a hard road. Has he done R-CHOP treatments? and did they say how long before they check it again? I know its hard, but I am sending you hugs!

they have not said how long it will be. they are just doing the staging tests for the first time. I guess he will do a round of chemo and then they'll check it again. thanks for the info and the support! it really helps to have someone to talk to!

I have had large B cell aggressive non hodkgins lymphoma now for 10 years.. The first 5 years were extremely difficult ... many many chemo's including high dose which i was in hospital for a month with.. But the good news is I am still here and i have had no chemo now for 5 and a half years i believe .. My Dr.. thinks i am a miracle.. The tumors are still here but very small and have laid dormant.. Praise God for this.. I live each day as though it is my last and i thank HIM for each day....
