I am falling apart no one will help us. My family and I had a house fire and the insurance company hired a contractor that didn't do the job but half way and took off with the rest of the money and now the insurance has dropped us. I am so scared the house isn't safe but we have no where else to go. Plenty of lawyers said they would help but they want 1500 down and we just dont have that kind of money. so sad I just don't know where to turn.

Have you asked the lawyers if the will take the payment on an installment plan, that is, allow it to be broken up into smaller amounts that you can pay over a few months?
Is there a Salvation Army, local church (even if you are not a member), or Red Cross office that can either help you or refer you to someone who might help you?
