Currently taking 3.25 gms Xyrem at 10:00 pm then 3.00 gms at 2:00 am. Worked quickly for two weeks now it takes 60 minutes or more at same dose. I don't eat past 7:00 pm. Any recommendations or suggestions? Zenfulliving

" my dr tells me that the dose that most people get to when they "feel good" is 4.5g 2 times a night. maybe you should talk to your dr. about uping your dose a little. you still have room to work with. currently i am taking 3 1st daose and 2.25 the 2nd. "

" i had an interesting chat with my doc's secretary about xyrem the other day, now i am certainly not suggesting that anyone on here has this problem, BUT i have read that in trials 6% of patients suffered some urinary incontinence while sleeping while taking this, now that is something that i would not want to experience even if i found that it cured all my probs, so i mentioned this. answer was - some people esp. who drink before going to bed will have this happen, so someone they heard this happened to was recommended to have smaller dose first, so didn't sleep as long before 2nd dose, then when they woke for 2nd larger dose they went to loo and emptied bladder so it didn't happen during next lot of sleep. now that makes some sense, so i do hope that anyone who happens to be reading this who may be experiencing that problem gets some help from my (2nd-hand) advice, it is even making me think that if that problem can be solved in that way, i might even consider xyrem myself one day. good luck ladies, watching eagerly how you progress on xyrem x "

" ask your doc if it's ok to move your second dose closer together? I take first dose 3.25g 10:00p.m. second dose 12:00-12:30a.m. along with 25mgs amitriptyline it's taken only once at 10:00p.m. I don't eat past 7:00p.m. this seems to hold me down asleep till 7-8:00a.m "
