Hips ache after walking? Normal?

I'm not overweight, but I'm not underweight either. I'm getting up there in years(mid 40's), and I have MS. Fall-Winter-Spring-SUMMER.

I have been trying to get ouside to walk when not rainy, hot, humid, or Winter.

I'm noticing when I walk, it's my hips that ache.

Is this something to do with MS or just normal aging?

" I'm not sure about your situation, but I notice when I do any walking - (with the use of my leg brace and cane of course...blah!) my hips hurt. I have attributed this pain to the fact that I'm probably not walking "normally" or distributing my weight properly.... with weak legs, etc... I think it's other parts of my body compensating for the weakness.... it also bothers my lower back. I'm also getting up there in age - 45 - and have often wondered if it could be something arthritic settling in - but I have issues with some spinal stenosis, too. Who knows... I hate MS. "

" Hi, Sounds like mostly MS either way you are going to get inflammation and that is not good. I suggest that you rest when you feel the pain if you can some how? I am 48 and the number mostly does'nt relate to me(I am more like a beat out 70) Can't be young forever!

I walk when the weather permits also and 3/4 of the time I don't get slammed. Good Luck! "

" this is very common for me, too.

i feel like one muscle and joint is always compensating for another.

i am on my feet alot at work. by noon i'm hurting. when i drive home it can be hard to get out of the car.

after a day off from work it's painful to get up and move the next day. i allow extra time to stretch and get things going... "
