What does Vitamin K have to do with it?

Maybe a lot for those who are D deficient, like my husband on D3 but not taking Vit K..yet. I have already asked for vit K test from the nutritionist we spoke to last Sunday. Can't wait to get these results!

Vitamin K is needed for Vitamin D use in the body. PLUS it is needed to produce Protein C in the body which per the below studies may be linked to higher incidence of MS.

Please visit
http://www.ramswebsite.net/Getting...
and ask your doctor for the list of tests ie #26) Vitamin K. I would print off this page along with the supporting data.

Like Supportive Data #3
Multiple studies, including government studies, show that low vitamin D puts you at a greater risk for MS. So adding vitamins reduces risk of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Oh yeah you need D to help with other vitamins like B12 utilization in the body. See how this is a cascade effect.

If you have a leak in your oil line of your car. You can keep putting oil in but until you address the ultimate problem not enough oil is going to get where it needs to and you WILL have damage done.
Please get tested to find out if you have a leak and how to make a work around to the issue.
There is enough supportive data (CLINICAL STUDIES) on the www.RAMSwebsite.Net
for you to make a case to your doctor to get tested.

More Blood-Clotting Proteins Implicated in MS
Submitted by Art & skedlo on Tue, 2008-03-04

A new report of a couple of proteins related to blood clotting found to be involved in MS brains has come out of Stanford. The protein tissue factor, which is involved in the coagulation of blood, and protein C inhibitor, which blocks the anticoagulant protein C were noted from an array of many proteins.

Protein C dificiency - protein C and Z are vitmain K dependent

Vitamin K is critical to the calcium-binding function of those proteins.
Small amount of K is stored in Liver and you get Vit K from: Olive oil, Broccoli, Spinish and Kale

There is K1 in multivitamins. K2(menatetrenone or MK-4) is the active form of the vitamin currently
being used in Japan for osteoperosis. K2 is also produced by the large intestine gut bacteria

Excess Vit A interfers with vit K absorption.
Excess Vit E(tocopherol quinone) may inhibit Vit K dependent carbozylase enzymes and found to decreass PROTHROMBIN.

FYI Vitamin K is needed for Vitamin D to work too per the below studies

" Vitamin K reduces inflammation Per teh Oxford and Medline government studies below.

(Again your good gut bacteria produce K2 the active form of the vitamin. Your bacteria need more alkaline/base/high pH and green veggies/fruit for them to thrive)

" Summation in a health person this is what happens:

Gut Bacteria(need green veggies)-> Vitamin K2 -> Vit D -> Calcium(bone health) -> B12(nerves health)

If you have a break with any of these you will have issues in the ending tissue areas. "
