I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR OF YOUR ODDEST MS SYMPTOMS. I HAVE FOUND THAT ON AND OFF, STRANGE FEELINGS CAN OCCUR!
TWO OF MY WEIRDEST ONES WERE: 1. MY RIGHT EYE WAS TURNING DOWN WITHOUT THE OTHER MOVING AND I HAD TO WEAR AN EYE PATCH FOR AWHILE. GREAT AT PARTIES! 2. MYSTERIOUS, ITCH IN ONE SPOT ON MY BACK THAT COULDN'T BE RELIEVED WITH ANY AMOUNT OF SCRATCHING! Posted on 05/10/08, 11:05 am |

This is really weird. Last summer, on a very hot and high humidity day, I was outside hanging clothes. Out of the corner of my eye I saw my neighbor's two large dogs come running at me in attack mode. I screamed at the dogs and yelled for help. When no attack came, I looked around and nothing. No dogs. The dogs were in their kennel, where they'd been all along. That was so strange.
Another weird thing--in the summer, if I'm wearing shorts or a skort, as I slide out of my van (cloth seats), it feels as though my left thigh is dragging a towel or large piece of clothing with it. I nearly always look to see what I am attached to or what is attached to me, but there is never anything there. No dogs. No clothing. Just 'nerves'! LOL

I think my wierdest was before diagnosis, when I did not know what it was.. I thought people were tapping me for attention. I'd turn and there would be no one there. Likewise the raindrop on my leg that was not there. And the hotflashes, that were not hot flashes, but since I did not know what hot flashes were, I thought they had to be it, and I wondered what all the fuss was about.
Do I win the prize?

OMG....now I KNOW I'm not going crazy!! The bees...well, that was one of the first signs that sent me to the Neuro...along with the numbness, stiffness, & buzzing in my right-front hip (where I always kept my cell phone...kept thinking it was my cell phone...but my cell phone wasn't there...and when it was...I didn't have a call!).
I told my Neuro that it felt like a bumble bee had dug it's way into my right ear canal & upwards a bit...and was "buzzing" away. She looked at me like I was crazy...& at that moment, I felt like I was crazy...now, thanks to all of my dear friends here in the MS forum...I KNOW I'M NOT CRAZY!!! By the way... that bee still wakes up from time to time....guess he's there to stay! LOL! And 2...I guess the weird face thing that I described in my recent post...feels like one side...or sometimes both sides...are blowing up like a balloon!..really freaky!. Once, it felt like the left side of my facial muscles were drawing up and contorting grossly...I was driving and started freaking out...I looked in my mirror to see what my face looked like...expecting to see a horrid picture...but looked normal!!??...weird stuff...like THE TWILIGHT ZONE kind of stuff!!!??? Good one Feisty...I'll help you research the "Lost Bees"!! LOL!! I know where one of them went...in my right ear!! LOL!! I also feel the wet spots, burning spots, biting spots, creepy/crawly spots, etc... And the sensory issues...well, I thought that was all my Fibro...research says it messes with our senses...can't stand certain smells, sounds, lights, textures, etc... My taste & smell also gets wacky!! Guess it's an MS thing too!! Luv & {{Hugs}} to All, ~Tonya

I am not diagnosed with MS --3 drs, 3 theories--and cannot have an MRI because I have a spinal cord implant for back pain. BUT I have bees in ear, itchy spot in center of back, right leg feels like it is dragging but no one sees that, cannot swallow or yarn without feeling like a lump in on left of throat, inside left side of my head feels like a rotten peach. The last one scares me.

To me, all of my MS symptoms are weird since nothing about them is normal. Ha! But let's see...weirdest?
Without fail, every time I see a movie in the theater and go to leave, my legs will not move. They feel like they are weighted down and my brain can't tell them to move. My hubby has to carry me out every freakin time! Also, I will jump & scream despite knowing when a loud noise is about to happen-ex: loud sounds in a movie I've seen a thousand times or when I'm watching fireworks, which I can no longer watch without ear plugs. Loud noises always make me scream like someone has on purposed tried to scare me to death, & I can never move afterwards (absolutely frozen). Makes no sense! Someone mentioned night terrors. I have the same problem and I'm not taking any meds so that's not the reason. I can't get a good nights rest because of the strangest things my mind sees in the dark while I'm aware that I'm in my bedroom. I've never been afraid of the dark so I'm NOT making these visions up!

Just want to thank you all for replying in this thread. You have provided me with some wonderful material when I try explaining some of the MS symptoms to school kids as I travel around with the MS Readathon.
I think they will especially love the bees story and the phantom dog pee.

Just as Lotte appreciated my funhouse analogy, I appreciate her haunted house one! Both are apt.
I forgot to mention what are some possibly GOOD weird symptoms of my MS. First off, I almost never get sick (knock wood). Maybe one cold in the last several years. But what's really unexpected is that bees don't sting and mosquitoes don't bite. They'll hover near me, but not land. I have to wonder if this is MS-related, because it was never the case in my childhood and youth.

I WOULD SAY THE WEIRDEST SYMPTOM I'VE HAD IS THE BUZZING FEELING WHILE LOOKING DOWN I CAN'T SPELL THE NAME OF THE DISORDER BUT SOME DOCTOR NAMED IT.

I felt like someone stabbed me in the left but cheek with an ice pick.
I heard about another one from my boyfriend's sister, who also has MS: She felt like she had bees in her ears, buzzing and making her head vibrate. LazyJulie http://lazyjulie.blogspot.com
