MS and Bipolar?

How many of you have MS and Bipolar? I was dx with bipolar when I was about 22. I didn't really think I had it. I thought the doctor just jumped to conclusions when he heard that my mom had it. I have been pondering the though recently and wonder if maybe I was wrong. I'm not taking any meds for it.
I was also dx with MS in 2000. I wonder how many people there are out there who have both?

" darla:
not sure on the number of ppl who have MS and bipolar but i am one person who has bipolar and MS ( i don't have my DX but I'm 99% sure)
I agree that doctors tend to jump the gun on the bipolar thing.my father had it.. or so I'm told... My father abused drugs and drank so I tend to think the doctor just gave him a label and sent him on his way.

how are you doing with out meds?? I have to take meds everyday or I enter a mental hell.

I wish the best,
tori "

" I did pretty good for a long time, but now I'm not so sure. I've been depressed for about 3 days, triggered by the usual trigger. (I'm not even gonna go there)
I just don't know how to stop! I mean I know to think about something else, or focue on something else, but when I do that, later it just comes right back. I don't even know how to deal with this! All I want to do is cry. "

" At one time, my psychiatrist thought that I may be bipolar. It was right after two separate Solumedrol treatments within 1 month. I went nutso..sort of speaking. I lean toward some paranoid behavior with a lot of stress and depression. The other day when I saw the psychatrist, he said he didn't think that I was bipolar just highyly sensitive to the steriods. I know that I am a completely different person since I had two attach back to back two years ago. I am wondering if MS doesn't affect our brain to the extent that some of us may send out signals that say we are bipolar? Just something that I wonder about freguently. I have several cousin are bipolar and this is one reason if you present with some of the systoms mental health will assume that you are bipolar also. "
