Pain the day after Rebif

Hey everyone, I've been taking Rebif for about 2 months now I'm up to the 44 mg dosage and after I take my shot about 2 hours later I get the chills so bad and start shaking so bad it's horrible. The next day I'm so dehydrated and in so much pain I don't know where to put my self. My legs and arms hurt so much nothing seems to help. Just wondering if anyone else out there has the same problem with Rebif??? Thank you all for listening.

" I just started it yesterday so I'm still on the low dose... did you have any side effects before or did they get bad when you got up to the 44mg? "

" Are you taking Aleve or some pain reliever 30 min before your shot? Also drink plenty of water. Being dehydrated makes the side effects worse. "

" Hi lve, I am on the full dosage of Rebif now (44mg). I shoot it at night so that I can "chill" in bed. Fever/chills usually shows up by 3 or 4am, I get up, drink 8-10 oz of WATER, take 3 Advils, go back to bed until time to get up & get ready for work. By that time, the worst is over.

If you can afford it, buy an electric blanket or a heating pad (cheaper), it will help.

Hang in there, it should get better. "

" I started having side effects and site reactions when I stepped up to the 22 mcg dose. I took 800-1000 mg of Advil one hour before, with no relief whatsoever. I switched to 2 Aleve (440 mg), and one max strength Pepcid one hour before my shot, and I try to drink a lot of water. So far, the side effects have been MUCH better with this pre-med combo. I've been on the 44 mcg dose for a week or so, and so far so good. Try to switch up your pre-med. Eventually you'll find what's better for you. For me, it was Aleve. "

" Definitely take the Aleve or a generic version of it (3-4 pills) around 45 minutes to an hour before, and also inject just before you go to bed so you can mostly sleep off the first part of the sleep like symptoms.

My wife tells me that Haagen-Daas, Dove, or Ben and Jerry's is a necessary part of the Naproxen solution, but I am beginning to suspect that she might have made that part of the treatment plan up.... ;-) "
