" I, too, am ready to face the garbage you are going through. What I do understand from the many ppl I've spoken with is that it can take 4-5 appeals before you finally get accepted! I know it can be a lengthy process and I wish you the very best of luck!!! You'd think they are offering millions to us!!! What a fat joke....Who of us REALLY wants to be in this situation anyway for crap sakes!!! I will think positive thoughts for you! Cara "

" I had a lawyer who filed all the paperwork for me. It was worth it for me, because I do not have the concentration and attention to detail that I once had in filling out the paperwork. I was approved within 9 months. I was denied the first time right away. My lawyer filed an appeal and I was approved. The SS administration paid for the doctors and everything. I was practically sress free for me. Good luck to you and I wish you a speedy approval. "

" First off, I do not know what state laws apply to you, but in most states you can claim economic hardship to have the dr.'s fees for copying med. records waived. Contact your state medical licensing board to ask them---you should be able to google and locate it, and then send an email inquiry.

Second, a colleague and friend, Carolyn, has a web page to help with ss applications, and is very successful. Google "DisabilityKey". You can download a free manual, or you can hire her to assist you.
Also, when answering the questions for SS, calways consider your very worst day to be your average and normal day because that is what an employer does. No employer is concerned with all the days you can work, but with the days you are in a fog, or ill. Right??Let me know if you have further questions. "

" Jav, I've heard the horror stories about SS. I'm one of the lucky ones--approved in 2 months.
I think amassing a big medical bill expedited my claim. I haven't figured it out, but it probably came to over 60 Grand.
At medical bills go, it wasn't huge, although it highlightened the point that I wasn't faking.
You and I are honest people. However, SS is trying to weed out the ones who aren't and innocent people sometimes suffer as a result.
Hospital stays, doctor visits, tests, plus medical testimony, all help to substaniate a claim.
It might take you a year to get you at this threshold, as unfair as that may seem.
I wish you the best. God bless you and peace always. "

" I'm going through the same mess now too.(i've been denied 3 times) My lawyer told me that in MN at least, the wait to get in front of a judge is 2 1/2 years!!! I really think that what the system is counting on is people dying or becomming so frustrated at the process that they just give up and not fight for the benefit they paid for. Just make sure you are keeping notes on every new symptom, med, test, and office visit so when they day comes that you are in front of a judge you can prove "I REALLY AM SICK!!" "

" Hi I hear ya on this SS thing. I have been denied 2xs myself and am waiting for a court date. My employer that I worked for their insurance pays for the lawyer and I was fortunate but it does take forever and it bothered me alot but now I say whatever happens happens. I wish you all the luck and keep us filled in and I will do the same. I have been out of work now almost 2 yrs. when I had my first attack. I havent talked to my employer since the attack so I dont know where I even stand. Take care and try to keep your chin up and think positive. We have to or it will eat at us like it was doing to me earlier.. God Bless You Jav and hopefully we can support one another... "

" I only know one person who is on disability, but she had to get a lawyer in order to get it. That's depressing. "
