The last several days MANY of my previous neurological symptoms have surfaced once again, to me that is indication of a flare up....havent had one in six months. I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and neurological symptoms that micmic MS symptoms as they could not find any lesions on my brain or spine MRI in 2005. The doc does not see why it is necessary to have another bunch of tests done now.
My recent surfaced symptoms are when my head bobbles, (bobblehead), legs like logs so when I walk I walk very slow like frankenstein and both my leg muscles turn inward which make walking more of a challenge than the log leg effect, I have heavier than usual fatigue and warmer than usual sauna type or rubberized muscles, my hands -- both of them -- are extremely stiff, and my fingers are hard to move (typing this is a b*tch) I feel like this lump of clay sitting on the sofa tonight! I am having a very hard time forming words, even simple ones, and my first tough task is THINKING about the word to even form it to speak. I cant remember the day of the week let alone what I had for breakfast this morning! I feel like I am just staring out to space. Those are recently recurring symptoms, stuff I am used to dealing with I had most of those 6 months ago with my last flare up. When I get a flare up, I get a repeat symptoms of what I had before, and then they just magnitude when they return again and THEN more new symptoms occur. What I want to ask you about is this new symptom with my hands. Now grant you, my hands are heavy and the fingers are stiff and difficult to move. They are NOT painful but they are tender to the touch. I AM used to numbness in the hands and fingers, gingerale feeling like the hand has fallen asleep, or stabbing pins and needles sensations....but NOW I have a symptom where touch is magnified. Like if I touch something cold, it feels FROZEN Today when I touched a piece of green leather leaf, the leaf edge felt like a sharp knife against my fingers. Soft items feel like muffed cotton, etc. Just everything in the touch department is magnatized. Just like last flare up my hearing went nuts and while people were talking normal my ears picked up voice and noise like I was being yelled at, and I got an enormous headache from it. Well now, in my hands, the sense of touch is magnified. Can any of you relate? Is this a Chronic Fatigue area or is it an MS type symptom. I want to see if I can get some testings done now or soon to see about any lesions. Im posting this on both the MS and the Chronic Fatigue discussion boards looking for some input. Thank you! I welcome your input, suggestions, and experiences. Hugs Ellen Posted on 03/28/08, 09:03 pm |

Ellen, I know the feeling of having "magnetized" hands. While I don't have this feeling anymore, my hands used to feel very magnetized and tried to explain the doctor and he couldn't really give me an explanation.
It felt like there was a charge between my hands and objects I tried to touch. Coincidentally, when I turned on a light sometimes, the bulb would blow out. One week, I burned out several, more than any time before. I don't know if this part is related to my MS, but it seemed so strange to me. During this period, I turned on the thermostat and that blew out mysteriously. The repairman couldn't figure out why it happened. It was weird. At first my mom was skeptical, then she started telling me to not touch the thermostat. Now I'm not suggesting that it was paranormal (I'm not loony) in this particular circumstance. Maybe, though, there's a reason based on physics and electricity. Who knows? I don't claim to know all the answers.
