my mother has been diagnosed with MS, She is in denial and says the doctors are wrong. She won't discuss it with me. I would like to know please

Is it hereditary?

Do people die of it?

Thanks

NO

but that's not a firm answer.... there are some reports that say they died of 'complications of MS', so maybe... but not Directly. "

" The doctors arent sure why we get it, there are numerous things that are thought to possibly play a part, genetics is one of them. Someone can you tell you the others I dont want to say something that is not accurate. MY aunt has ms and I do too. But no one else in the family does. I would have your mom get a second and third opinion just to confirm that the first neuro is right. I went to more than one dr just to make sure before starting any treatment. You dont die of it, ms causes a lot of symptoms you must live with it and eventually you will die like everyone else but isnt like cancer. Ms is just debilitating and makes the life you have harder at times. Good luck getting through to her, she just may need time. It is hard to hear that you are sick when someone tells you. KEep us updated as to how you and she are both doing :) "
