OK so if you have read my previous LDN blog to LOOK INTO a different paradigm of treating MS. Previously immune inhibitors have been used. Now with Mayo 2000 study+NIAH 2004 RA study and Penn State Univ 89% improvement of Crohns with Immune Enhancers(LDN) point to the Exciting possibility that Immune Boosters may be the way to go.
On this note a new drug has come out on SF1019 another Immune ENHANCER. Used by Alan Osmond with what he says is "great success" after having MS for 30years. Keep in mind he is not only using it in clinical trials he is ALSO a major shareholder of this experimental drug. I am looking for another clinical trial of this drug to come out but I must say the finding below BLEW ME AWAY - results inthe first 20 minutes! Can't wait until a 2nd study is done. FYI I am printing this article along with the 3 studies mentioned above so my husband can take this to his next neuro appointment. What are your thoughts?? http://www.drugs.com/clinical_tria... SF-1019 ***results were extraordinary. Neurological scores on average were elevated from 52.5 before SF-1019 to 74.2 after therapy with SF-1019. The improvement was statistically significant at P 001 level. Comprehensive metabolic profile and complete blood counts were observed to be normal before and after injections of SF-1019. According to the results, specific measurable improvements within 10-20 MINUTES were apparent in tremor, numbness, motor strength, walking, balance, speech, pain and coordination. ***Within 24 hours and continued with each subsequent weekly injection there was an increase in motor strength, lessening of fatigue, walking, alleviation of numbness and pain, coordination and, in one patient, a measurable reversal of osteoporosis. ***"Although preliminary, the results were extraordinary. It appears that SF-1019 is safe and effective as a single form of therapy for treatment of progressive neurological auto-immune and inflammatory conditions for which there is no other satisfactory form of therapy," says Arthur Dale Ericsson, MD, Founder of IBR. If you go to http://www.argyllbiotechnologies.c...
it tells about the people that were in the group that were "need based", or some such. Quite remarkable stories. In reading the science behind it, it makes sense. Because I have other immune things going on, I have had extensive testing. Natural Killer cells (something I have hardly any of) get boosted, as well as helping the good t cells, and I can't explain much else. My good t cells are pretty rare too. I wonder if all MSers got these tests, would they find the same? Low NK cells, not enough good t's, etc? Sounds like this is an excellent treatment. Only time will tell. Looks like the first clinical trial will take place in europe though. I did send an email to the person in contact us, asking if I might have a shot at it. Doesn't look like any bad sides, looking at the labs. Who knows. I'd sure like to have a stab at it.
