Just saw a promo for Couric's Thursday evening news. Something about doctors being paid by pharmaceuticals for prescribing their drugs. I won't miss it.

That has been going on forever. That's why we need to be educated about our medical choices.

Thanks for the heads up! I am very interested in this topic after my PCP told me I had diabetes when my glucose level after eating was 103. He enrolled me in all this stuff without my go-ahead...I was sure then that he was in cahoots with the diabetes pharmaceuticals. Thanks again! XOXOXO

the report said pharmaceutical companies paid docs $57 billion last year, much unreported. Sen. Grassle wants bill to make all this open. Maybe we should ask our neurologists if they are paid in any way by the drug companies.

Duuuuh. Katie Couric is a little slow on the uptake. Prime example of that is when i went to the MS center for the first time and they were adamant about me taking Betaseron even though i was severely depressed and had a history of drug abuse (two no no's) Turns out the head doctor was a spokesperson for Bayer who makes betaseron.
Jerks.
